Yakul’s New Single Is An Ocean Of Neo-Soul Technicolor…
Today on Sensei’s Music Blog, we get to help showcase the newest release from four-piece group Yakul called ‘DayDreaming’ - which is just a funky neo-soul jam that continues in the vein of the momentous work Yakul were doing for the last year. With hook-laden melodies, and a hip-hop flavored coda, Yakul have built a sound that doesn’t compromise on the influences of their roots, distilling them into a sound that bears Yakul’s unmistakable stamp. ‘Daydreaming’is the sound of the Brighton group hitting their stride, and it’s a heady indicator of where they’re headed this year.
In their own words, “Daydreaming is one of the first songs we completed as a band, we’ve had it ready to go for over a year now. We recorded it in the summer of 2018 With Jim Macrae at his studio in London which was a real step up for us, we were also really stoked to get Charlie Stacey (Yussef Dayes, Moyses Dos Santos) to come in and put down the synth solo.”
Lastly, if you’re diggin’ what Yakul is up to - make sure you throw them a follow on their social media links and stay up to date with their works as it drops.
