Staten Island R&B artist, Jordan Barone, released a chill track for the weekend...
"Early on, Jordan sat in on music and performance promotion meetings in his older brother’s (Stefan) home recording studio while learning music programs. By 10, he played classical piano; crafting his own compositions and lyrics. With a desire to record, Jordan acquired basic knowledge of audio engineering.
In 2013, Jordan interned at prominent recording studios in New York City, enrolled at SAE-NY (School of Audio Engineering), was awarded a fellowship with Mix With The Masters, studying with Young Guru (engineer to Jay-Z and Beyonce) in Saint Remy, France. He served as an independent contractor and Community Relations Manager for Gur’s Era of the Engineer. At this time, Jordan and Stefan Barone formed Red Planet Records, LLC. From 2015, Jordan worked at BlastOff Productions as a full-time audio engineer. Jordan also operates as Chief Engineer of his newly minted Red Planet Studios, serving as a producer/songwriter on multiple artists’ projects for independent and major label releases. In 2017, Jordan was awarded a DCA (Department of Cultural Affairs) Premier Grant through Staten Island Arts, towards his debut EP release, which also serves as the debut release for Red Planet Records, LLC. In 2018, Jordan left his full-time position at BlastOff Productions to pursue his career as an artist and focus on Red Planet Records, LLC. With his independent record label, and the debut release, Jordan Baron intends to solidify his position as a New York songwriting staple, and Staten Island hometown champion."
Today, we get to help showcase the debut track from Jordan Barone entitled 'Same Thing' - which is smoother than a fresh shave melodically. Barone’s 'Same Thing,' focuses on the isolation founded on trepidation in moving forward with love due to past failed relationships. Supported by Amber Lee’s responsive harmonies, the track concludes in a loop of reflective callbacks, symbolic of Jordan’s reluctance to be drawn back to the 'Same Thing'. The track fits into the larger Midnight Conversation EP, set to release in September 2018, reverberating the theme of love lost to poor timing and ambitions, as an ode to the journey of success. Midnight Conversation represents his oxymoronic position in the culture, where he is relatively unknown as an artist, allowing a unique insight to his craft and composition. Barone places you in these late nights, devoid relationships, lost lovers, early A.M. ferry rides and city life, serenading you with fingers latched to the piano and with synthesizer-infused production. His autobiographical narrative, Midnight Conversation, presents the sublime introduction to the young man and his story.
